We recommend to use public transportation to get to the different places of interest (Hotels, European parliament, Pavillon Josephine, restaurant Ancienne Douane). Strasbourg has an efficient transportation system combining TRAM and BUS lines. All participants will have a "sympopass" in their registration package that can be used on any tram or bus at any time from demebre 2nd to december 5th. Stations are well signed with map and time tables in histogram form. Most important tram or bus stations have electronic online timing board. Trams circulated every 3 to 6 minutes from 4.30 to 0.30. Buses circulate every 10 minutes.

There are regular bus-tramway connections from STRASBOURG-ENTZHEIM Airport to the city centre. Runs to Strasbourg are scheduled every 15 minutes Monday to Friday, Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons and every 30 minutes Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings. Purchase price for a one way ticket is 4.7 Euros, and for the round trip is 8.60 Euros. Tickets can be purchased at the coach driver or in the airport. The shutlle is a bus-tramway connection. During your stay in Strasbourg you will have a "sympopass" that allows you to use all the public transportation systems (Tram or bus) from December 2nd to December 5th. However the "sympopass" does not include the cost for shuttle between Airport and Strasbourg.
The Airport shuttle leaves at the Arrival bay by bus and takes you to the Tramway terminal BAGGERSEE. There you connect with the TRAMway (Line #A, direction HAUTEPIERRE) which offers a wide choice of stops between Baggersee and the city centre. The whole trip takes about 15 minutes.
The TRAMs circulate every 6 minutes on week days (including saturday), and every 15 minutes on sundays.

The train station is located at walking distances from downtown Strasbourg (15 minutes). The station has excellent connections with city buses and Tramway. We recommend to use TRAM #A direction ILLKIRCH which offers a wide choice of stops through the city centre.

The itineraries indicated are valid both ways (from your hotel to the EP, and from EP to your hotel). They all end at Bus Station ORANGERIE (bus # 6 & # 30) or Bus Station DORDOGNE (bus # 2 & # 7). Station ORANGERIE is about 300 meters from the entrance of the Parliament (entrance "Winston Churchill), allée Spach, 45° direction left from the main Avenue (see map B attached). It is a10 minutes walk from station DORDOGNE to the entrance of the European Parliament.
For security reasons, participants to the DYGEN conference are allowed to take only entrance "Winston Churchill" of the Parliament. When you quit the Bus stations take "Allée Spach" (see map B) to reach entrance "Winston Churchill". You will have to present you ID card or passport and wear the conference badge at the entrance.

Pavillon Joséphine is located within the park "Orangerie" just across the Avenue de l'Europe (see map B attached). You can use the same TRAM or BUS and use the same intineraries as for the EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT
The restaurant "l'Ancienne Douane" is in the center of the City, - on the ILL River -, about 300 meters from the Cathedral (see map C attached) . It is also close to the TRAM (Line A or D) station PORTE de l'HOPITAL. It can be reached from hotels (except IBIS Pont de l'Europe) by TRAM. The last TRAMs are running at 0.30 .
Participants at HOTEL "IBIS Pont de l'Europe" can use BUS Line # 21 (Station Parc du Rhin the same as for Line # 2). The last Bus # 21 leaves at 21:23. Transportation will be organized after the dinner for those staying at "IBIS Pont de l'Europe".

Take TRAM A direction ILLKIRCH. Leave TRAM at Station BAGGERSEE and connect to the shuttle bus for the airport. The bus connection is at the same station. The bus leaves every 15 minutes.
The railway station is a combined Railway -TRAM station (Line #A or #D) (Station GARE CENTRALE). It can be reached through any bus or other TRAM connection.
